Life's pretty good. Getting through school, devoted son is growing up big and healthy, hubby enjoying his work. We're enjoying Sundays off now, getting to do fun things and being together as a family. I would have to say this is the happiest I've ever been in my life so far and that just makes me even more happy. Life is still tough and there are going to be rough patches, but I'm enjoying my new found freedom. I'm meeting wonderful people that are going through similar trials. Gaining a new world view, new insight.
Also had a wonderful discussion with my sister about my leaving the church and she conceded I had valid points and it was just a huge surprise. There is still the in-laws finding out that worries me...that fallout is NOT going to be pretty.
Yup, just enjoyin'.

People always say, "give it time", and "be patient". Personally, I'm not sure why, any time we do anything different (especially--gasp!--choosing, for ourselves, what's right for us) we're supposed to be tolerant of the fact that that will be "difficult" for people. Why should it be difficult for them? What does it have to do with them?
Your family and friends will, hopefully, understand that you need to do what's right for you, just as they need to do what's right for them. They can disagree with you, but they shouldn't try to change you, or judge you, or force you back into the fold.
Peer pressure can be a terrible thing. If you can stand firm in the face of it, that's a great thing. And, in time, people will respect your choices, or they won't. Here's to hoping they do!
I think having survived Mormonism means that we will probably never go anywhere near religion again. We were burned enough the first time eh! Life is amazing once you're 'out', the deconversion process is certainly not easy but it is worth it. I struggle with wanting to 'get everyone out' you know? I mean here I am with this new persecutive that I wish someone had knocked me on the head with waaaay earlier and got me the hell out of there!!!
Great to meet you Kaylanamars, the online ex-mo community is the best!
